Lets Make South African Ground Lamb Bobotie
Bobotie is a favorite dish of South African descendants of the Boer people. Bobotie is similar to American meatloaf except a little sweetness is added to the recipes. There are 100’s of different ways to make Bobotie but lamb is our favorite.
Ground Lamb Bobotie South African Style
Ingredients2 pounds ground lamb 2 medium onions finely chopped 2 large tomatoes finely chopped 2 tablespoons white vinegar 2 large eggs 1 tablespoon apricot jam 1/2 banana sliced 1 large apple finely chopped 2 tablespoons curry powder 2 tablespoons minced garlic 1 1/2 teaspoon sugar Salt to taste Directions Brown lamb and drain off excess fat. Add onions cook until transparent. Add all ingredients into a large bowl, mix well and cook 350 degrees 50 minutes in a bread loaf pan. Serve with vegetables and rice or make fufu and ugali.
