Couscous With Dried Dates and Honey

North Africa recipe of couscous with dried dates and honey

Honey has been used for everything from skincare to wine. Dried Dates is one of the most ancient crops in the world. Couscous is pasta and not rice that is eaten throughout North Africa. Honey, dates, and Couscous combine handsomely to create a rich dessert.

North Africa honey dates couscous

Couscous with Dried Dates and Honey

2 cups low fat milk
2 tablespoons honey
3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups dry couscous
1 cup chopped dried dates

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, honey and cinnamon. As soon as it comes to a boil, stir in the couscous. Turn off the heat, cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in dates. Serve warm for breakfast or as a dessert.
